Sheryl is on an uplifting personal journey to bring healing to the world, one Reiki-inspired step at a time. A firm believer in the mind, body and spirit connection, she advocates a lifestyle based on positive/intuitive living and self-healing practices.

She was originally a Graphic Designer and Art Director in the creative, corporate world for many years. However, after a very challenging period in her own personal life, she discovered the beneficial and healing modality of Reiki.

Sheryl became a Reiki Practitioner in 2006 and it has absolutely changed her life in a most positive way. She is passionate about spreading the joy of Reiki.

She became a Reiki Teacher in 2008. Teaching others and guiding them along their journey on the uplifting Reiki path is both thrilling and fulfilling to her.

Sheryl’s practice includes both people and animals as she has a compassionate heart and special connection to those furry and winged creatures as well as the two-legged human ones. She is one of the founding members of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association, known as S.A.R.A., which brings Reiki into shelters, rescues and sanctuaries to help the needy animals.

She has been a Reiki volunteer for a number of shelters and rescues on Long Island for over ten years, offering healing to the very needy animals. She is currently with the Golden Paw Society that does some amazing cat rescue and adoption.

Sheryl considers herself a “hybrid” in terms of her Reiki lineage and method of teaching. She has blended the classical Japanese teachings taught by Frans Stiene (of the

International House of Reiki) with the teaching and mentoring of Kathleen Prasad (her Animal Reiki teacher) along with some of the more modernized teachings of William Rand (The International Center for Reiki Training.)

The Animal Reiki curriculum taught by Sheryl closely follows the teachings of her Animal Reiki mentor, Kathleen Prasad, who is the founder of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association.

Sheryl has been married to her husband, Michael, for twenty-five years.  Her “brood” includes a son and daughter, two stepsons, three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, a grandson, three granddaughters and her 4-legged “fur-children.” (See photos at left.)

Hope and Grady (below) are now at the Rainbow Bridge. They so enjoyed sharing the Reiki space with their human “mama” and the memory of their unconditional love will live on...
